WordPress 2.5!

I just updated this site to WordPress 2.5, and this is a pretty exciting upgrade. First of all, the new admin panel looks fantastic. Very open and clean. Something else that I was really happy to see in this release is the one-click updates for plug-ins. I immediately updated about four plug-ins after the WP upgrade, and it took about two minutes to update all of them. Lots of cool new features.

I’ve just upgraded to WP 2.5, and am likewise loving it. Still looking around the new dashboard – didn’t notice the one-click plugin update feature earlier – but that’ll sure prove useful.

BTW, nice work with the new look Antbag :)

Grace, If you’ve never had a blog, i would start with a free blog on WordPress.com, to get the feel of how everything works. Once you understand how the software works, you can then get a web hosting package, a domain name, and install WordPress(which you download from WordPress.org) on your own web space.

But for someone just starting out, I would recommend getting the free blog first to learn the basics……and you may feel comfortable with it within the first week. I would just hate to recommend you go start spending money and not understand anything about it. Blogger is not a bad system, but in the long run, you can go much further with a WordPress blog. A free WordPress blog works pretty much the same as one that you would upload to your web space, but they have rules you have go by and you can’t “install” anything on one hosted on WordPress.com.

I hope that helps you out and gives you an idea of where to start.
