Tips to Make Your Posts More Read-a-ble
In this post, we’ll look at a couple of examples that can be used to make a blog post more scannable and easier to read. Things we’ll discuss include:
- using blockquotes
- including photos
- including lists
The Purpose of the Blockquote
The blockquote is something that is used in virtually every type of printed media. From magazines, to websites, books, to newspapers, it’s a very well traveled path and it’s very effective to both separate what someone else has said and bring extra attention to the statement.

Different Styles for Photos
In whatever theme I use, I like to control how my photos display by assigning a class to the different ways I’ll want them to fit within the post. I set mine up very similar to the way they are in the popular Cutline theme.
Using Ordered and Unordered Lists
First of all, what is the difference between and Ordered and an Unordered List? An ordered list is a list that is numbered. In other words, you style the list as “ordered”, and the numbers will automatically be there.

On the other hand, an unordered list is a list that has no numbers. Most of the time, the list has bullets instead.
