Coffee Break – New Wordpress Theme
Maybe it’s just me, but when I’ve come up with names for my themes in the past, I would always check to make sure the name wasn’t already taken. I’ve been getting some traffic because of Woo Themes creating a theme and naming it Coffee Break. A simple Google search would have shown them the name has been taken for about two and half years. No big deal to me, just curious what would happen if I created a new theme and named it Revolution or Cutline?
To create my first theme that I felt was “public release” worthy, I slaved over the details. The design is the opposite of what I’m using here on my site – It’s very conservative and “earthy”. No bright colors or rounded corners will be found here.
Coffee Break is a fixed-width layout. It’s also CSS valid, and widget ready. One of the things I really like is how the theme handles images. As most of you know, I’m a fan of the Cutline theme – more for it’s robust mark-up than for the default design. As Cutline has classes assigned to images, I’ve included that same idea in Coffee Break to make positioning an image in your post much easier. Special thanks to Small Potato at WPDesigner.com for his great tutorial which answered several questions I had.
I hope you guys like it.

Looks real nice, I’m getting ready to put a couple more sites together, so I think I’ll download it and give it a try.
Nice Job!
Thanks Clarke – I know you’re a Cutline junkie, so if you don’t use it, I understand!
I’m using it with widgets activates but for some reason there is no gray header on the different sidebar things.
Am I doing something wrong?
I may be wrong but I’m assuming there should there be a gif or something related to those side bar title headers?
There is not one in the file/mages I downloaded?
The h2 background in the sidebar is actually made without an image. I set the background color “brown” with a “lighter brown” border. You’ve made some changes to the coding, which is fine, but I’m not sure if that’s affecting how it’s displaying. I’ve just re-tested it on this site as well as my off-line test site, and it’s displaying correctly. Did you make any changes to the Sidebar.php file?
looks good, I’m also a cutline junkie, but i’ll give it a try on my another of my blogs for sure
You know I’m a huge Cutline fan…..this very blog is designed on top of it. I’m just trying something new with the theme, and hope people like it. I’m starting to get some linkbacks from it, so that’s cool!
I really like it. Having a challenge using it with “sticky” posts (prints Javascript to the screen when the home page is in the result set). Other than that, I really like it. Very nicely done.
Thank you, Eric! Sticky Posts are something I never even thought to test out on it….sorry about that.

I like coffee break and finishline templates the best. They are a good width where I can show 800×600 videos without problems.
Still in development
Carl…
I love the colours and the text clarity and size used on this site. I’ve just uploaded it but something funny is happening with the Copyright bar – it has floated to near the top of the page. Any idea why this might have happened – I haven’t changed any code?
Sharon
Hi Anthony, I have the same problem as Sharon above, when viewing the site through Internet Explorer 7.
The footer bar floats in the middle of the page, when there is a short post..
See this page using IE7: http://www.lancism.com/?p=10
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks man. And by the way, IT’S A GREAT THEME ! !
Yes, here’s the fix -
Open the stylesheet and scroll to the bottom. Look for the “footer” code. There’s a line that says:
clear: both;Change that to:
clear: none;I may be wrong but I’m assuming there should there be a gif or something related to those side bar title headers?
There is not one in the file/mages I downloaded?
No, it’s not an image background. It’s simply a background color with a border in the stylesheet..
I’ve been looking for this for the past days. Thank you for sharing and completing my day.
Nice post, keep up the good work!
Very interesting post, as are some of your other posts. I have bookmarked your great site for future visits.

Wow, my search is over! I have a blog on coffee and I’ve been looking for a good theme. This one looks perfect.
Very different and interesting theme. Simply it looks good!!!!!!
AH! This is the sort of thing I have been looking for. Looking for my next choice of coffee. Thanks! Your site is great by the way. You should add buttons to the bottom of your posts to digg, stumble, etc your content.- Tom
