Benefits of Giving Others Respect
I’ve found that sometimes there is more than one way of doing things and more than one way of dealing with situations. Either way may bring a similar result, yet beneath the surface, there may lie a huge difference. For instance, how you treat a salesman may have a huge impact on what type of service you get after the sale. Or how you treat an employee or subordinate will probably have an effect on your career if at some point you become his or her subordinate. This happens more often than you think. There’s an old saying that says; “Beware of the toes you step on today, they may be connected to the butt you kiss tomorrow”. I’m not sure where the saying came from, but I think it’s a wise thing to remember when dealing with others. Possessing an attitude of superiority will always come back to bite you in the long run…..

Another example is the guy who’s a jerk to the waiter or waitress in a restaurant. Do you think this could potentially have a bad effect on his order? I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about this situation, and I bet you have too. If there was anyone I wanted to treat with respect, it’s those who prepare my food……good idea? I’m not saying these are the reasons you should treat others with respect, however they are real world examples of potential backlash or benefits.
The Point
The point of this post is, treating others with respect is the easiest and most sure-fire way of being respected and being treated with respect.
